On February 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM, the St. Augustine Historical Society, the St Augustine Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, and the Maria Jefferson Chapter of the DAR will gather to dedicate a Liberty Tree in the historic courtyard of the Oldest House. During the American Revolution, Liberty Trees served as rallying points where patriots gathered to voice their grievances against King George III and the British Parliament.
These iconic trees became potent symbols of unity, resistance, and the fight for independence. The St. Augustine Liberty Tree at the Oldest House will honor this enduring legacy and stand as a tribute to the spirit of liberty and the sacrifices of those who fought to secure America’s freedom. Join us for this meaningful ceremony as we connect our city’s rich history to the ideals that shaped our nation.
